What Our Customers Are Saying

Don’t just take it from us, let our customers do the talking!

“The BRM action is a sturdy platform to build any rifle on.  We build single shot long range hunting rifles, short and long range benchrest rifles, and varmint rifles all around the BRM.  If the client asks we always recommend the BRM to start. ”

Greg Taylor

Owner, Taylor Accuracy

“The Borden action is the finest out-of-the-box action on the market. It is the only action I will use for a competition rifle in out-of-the-box condition.”

Alex Wheeler

Owner, Wheeler Accuracy

“Glued in BRM actions are a force on the benchrest line.  Smooth, precise and accurate, a client knows that any miss step leading to dropped points was not the actions fault.”

Jame Eazor

Owner, EPS Bullets

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the BRM make Heavy Varmint (13.5lbs) Weight?

Yes, the Borden BRM will make the heavy varmint weight restriction with the following considerations:

  • No Recoil Lug
  • Dovetail Bases
  • Under 24 inch Heavy Varmint barrel
  • Fixed Power Scope from March, Nightforce, or Leupold
Does the BRM us a Remington 700 Inlet?

NO!  The BRM is a square tang action that is similar to other benchrest actions from other manufacturers.  You may use the BRM with the McMIllian BAT semi inlet as long as the front action screw has not been drilled.  The profile of the Borden BRM tang is slightly wider and longer than the BAT so it drops in after very little inletting.

What is the Head space / Tenon Length?

Like other benchrest actions in the Borden Stable, the BRM uses a .900″ tenon length.  Some people call this head space and believe head space is interchangeable with tenon length.  The tenon diameter and thread pitch is 1116-18

Why don't my old scope screws work on a Borden BRM

Borden Actions feature 8×40 scope mounting screw holes.  Standard Remington 700 screws are 6×48, thus not compatible. Also, Borden actions are drilled and milled not tapped holes.  If you have 8×40 screws by some other manufacturers they might be slightly too big and won’t fit.  Please use 8×40 screws from competent manufacturers such as Borden, BAT, or others.

Will the BRM eject a full round?

Very good question and one with several nuances to it. The Borden BRM, when built as a single port, has a 3 inch loading port. Thus, any loaded round which is shorter than 3 inches will feed and eject without issues.  Dual ports is where it gets tricky.

Dual ports come with 3 inch loading ports and either 2.4 inch or 1.95 inch ejection ports.  The 2.4 inch port will eject an empty case shorter than 2.4 inches and congruently the 1.95 inch port will eject shorter than 1.95 inches.

The 2.4 inch port will eject:

  • 284 Winchester
  • 308 Winchester
  • 6.5 Creedmoor
  • .243 Winchester
  • 6mm Remington

The 1.95 inch port will eject:

  • All 223 cases
  • 6 PPC and Wildcats
  • 6 BR and Wildcats
  • 6 BR Improved
    • BR-AI
    • Dasher
    • BRX
    • BRDX
  • 6.5×47 Cases and Wildcats

If you want to be safe and HAVE TO HAVE full round ejection, we here at Taylor Accuracy recommend a single port action.
