Borden BRMXD Actions

Used the world over for F-Class competitions, the Borden BRMXD was the first 1.470″ diameter action from Borden Accuracy. It is large, heavy, and a perfect base for making a 22 pound competition rifle when matched with high magnification optics. We love the BRMXD for it’s dual port and bottom eject configuration possibilities as well.

Bottom Eject !!!

Bottom eject port configurations are available on the Borden BRMXD.  We recommend that they be matched to calibers such as the 6PPC (PPC Bolt Face Required), the 6 BR, 6 Dasher, 6 BRX and other BR Improved calibers.

Large Platform

The BRMXD is a 1.470″ diameter action. It provides a much more stable platform for the large, 32″ barrels that F-Class competitors like to use.  Taylor Accuracy recommends the use of only high quality, stable stock materials for these barreled action configurations.  McMillan Kestros, Cerus F-Class, Cerus SOD, and Masterclass are some of the ones we recommend the most often.

Common Footprint

Owners of current BRM actions will be happy to know the Borden BRMXD shares the same action screw hole locations as the BRM. Just take your existing BRM stock, open up the action area to a 1.470″ compliant inlet, re-bed and use your new BRMXD.

F-Class Ready Out Of The Box

The Borden BRMXD is ready for F-Class competition. When coupled with a 32 inch barrel and a competition stock, like a Cerus or McMillan Kestros, and a large magnification scope will put you right at 20 pounds.

Erik Cortina

I’ve been using the Borden BRMXD since it became available in 2016. In my opinion, Borden actions are the smoothest running actions on the market. They offer the sort of precise fire control, out of the box, that can usually only be obtained through the services of a skilled aftermarket gunsmith. All of my competition rifles (not only for F-Open) feature a Borden act ion as the base component and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to build a custom rifle, for competition or otherwise.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the BMXD Make 13.5lb HV Class?

Yes, the Borden BR will make the light varmint weight restriction with the following considerations:

  • No Recoil Lug
  • Dovetail Bases
  • Under 24 inch Light Varmint barrel
  • Fixed Power Scope from March, Nightforce, or Leupold
Does The BRMXD Use A Remington 700 Inlet?

NO!  The BRMXD is a square tang action that is similar to other benchrest actions from other manufacturers.  You may use the BRMXD with the McMIllian BAT semi inlet as long as the front action screw has not been drilled.  The profile of the Borden BRMXD tang is slightly wider and longer than the BAT so it drops in after very little inletting.

What Is The Tenon Length/Headspace ?

Like other benchrest actions in the Borden Stable, the BRMXD uses a .900″ tenon length.  Some people call this head space and believe head space is interchangeable with tenon length.  The tenon diameter and thread pitch is 1116-18

What Calibers Will Bottom Eject Work With?

We recommend the following for BRMXD bottom eject actions:

  • 6 PPC (Must Use PPC Bolt Face)
  • 6 BR or BR Improved Cases
    • 6 Dasher
    • 6 BRX
    • 6 BRXD
    • 6 BRA
