The Borden LSR Action

The Borden LSR is a direct drop in replacement for the long action Remington 700.  Like its cousin the Timberline, the LSR is designed with weight reducing features that make it a great choice for long range hunting applications. However, unlike the Timberline, the Borden LSR features the Borden Bumps on the bolt which are a benchrest technology.

Remington 700 Drop In

The Borden LSR is ready to drop into your Remington 700 long action stock or chassis. Recoil lug and Remington bottom metal options fit into the LSR right out of the box.

Borden Bumps Technology

Like its little brother, the SSR, the Borden LSR features Borden Bumps technology. The bumps allow the LSR to have the tightest lockup of any hunting action in the world with a measurement of less than .001″ at the rear receiver bridge.

World Class Hunting Action

The LSR was built to complete one task, allow the hunter to bring down a trophy animal from any distance. Whether it is mountain goats, elk, or bull moose, the Borden LSR can handle the calibers to bring your trophy home.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Borden LSR Use a Remington 700 Inlet?

Yes, The Borden LSR is a perfect match for your Remington 700 Long Action application. Just let us know if you have a Remington Swept Handle or a standard handle and it will work perfectly. Borden pinned lugs are .250″ thick, so check your Remington lug for matching thickness before dropping in.

Can the LSR us a magazine?

Yes, the Borden LSR is designed to accept magazines. We recommend the standard Remington Long Mag Well or the Wyatt Long Standard inlet if you are using a magazine. We DO NOT recommend a 300 RUM from a magazine if you want to shoot heavy bullets.

Are there protective coatings for the LSR?

Yes, the PVD process we call “Black Cat” is available for the LSR. Black Cat has a Vickers hardness of 3500 and will not only provide weather protection for your action but will also prevent galling and will make the action feel slicker.

What long range calibers do you recommend for the LSR?

Taylor Accuracy recommends the following:

  • 300 Win Mag
  • 30 Nosler
  • 28 Nosler
  • 300 Norma Mag
  • 300 RUM with bullets under 200 gr
Why do you mention the RUM only with light bullets?

The 300 RUM is a very large caliber. It doesn’t really show it’s strength unless you are using the Berger 230 grain bullet or something similar. However, in order to use those bullets, they must be pushed past the neck shoulder junction significantly and that hurts performance. The 30 Nosler is a shortened RUM case and can push the 230 gr bullets to 3200 FPS while still feeding from a BDL or magazine.

If you really want to shoo the RUM and a 230 class bullet, use a single shot.
